Dr. Laxminarayan Mahapatra is the first physician amongst the servitors of Lord Jagannath and has rendered his healing touch to lakhs of people. He joined as the first batch of medical students in Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College, Berhampur, Odisha. After completion of his internship, he started his own clinic in the name of Sevayan on the Odia New Year in 1973. Dr. LN Mahapatra has been serving the people in that clinic since decades. Apart from his medical profession, he is associated with various social organizations and renders honorary services to them.

Sevayan Diabetes Centre is a continuation of the idea “Sevayan” and gives emphasis to Life style disorders, particularly Diabetes. The centre celebrates the auspicious birthday of its founder, Dr. Laxminarayan Mahapatra as Founder’s Day on every 28th March.
